These changes and clarifications are specific only to competitors at the Florida State and Regional Science Olympiads only. All clarifications at www.soinc.org will also be honored at these competitions. Please be aware that the national clarifications INCLUDE the FAQ’s listed for each event.
Safety
Various types of goggles must be used for various events and should be on in any videos submitted for competition; See national website and event rules
Pre-build/impound events
This rule will not be enforced in Florida
Participants must be able to answer questions regarding the design, construction, and operation of the device per the Building Policy found on www.soinc.org.
It contradicts the general Science Olympiad rules which permit anyone from the team running the event, which could be different from the student who built the device.
Forestry B/C
Florida will use a subset of the national tree list published in the rules. ONLY specimens highlighted in red on the list will be tested at the Regional level. Additions to the State level are highlighted in
